Off to Arizona

Well, when I wanted to start blogging, I had so much enthusiasm and gusto and like everything I plan to do, I plan it when something else is looming. The holidays. So, I did that and now I'm here. I still have the enthusiasm, I just rerouted it for a while. Also, I had plans for pics for every post and that doesn't seem to be totally necessary or always practical. Right?

So anyway, the holidays are, for all intents and purposes (what show is the joke 'all intensive purposes' from, Seinfeld? Anyone? help...), over. We are off to Flagstaff, AZ to watch the Pinecone Drop in downtown. A lighted up, way oversized pinecone outside an old western style hotel. We went last year, not knowing of such a thing as a pinecone drop, and tried our best to wait until midnight to see it, but it was too dang cold! Every restaurant, bar, place of warmth was either full or closed, so we left. This year we will be prepared! ;)

We'll be staying at a B&B that used to be called the Sled Dog Inn (they have huskies that used to take patrons on sled rides, but the dogs, although still there, are retired), but now has another name. It's an Indian one that I can't remember, but to us it will always be the Sled Dog.

Have a safe and happy New Year, all!!!

Navigating Christmas

Decorating for Christmas is upon me....in my head it looks amazing, but right now it's just a mess! We were considering a tree today, but it was raining pretty hard while we were out, so it wasn't a great time to go looking. It's probably a good thing though, because a tree in the middle of all my snowman/lights/ornaments/where do I put this? mess would have been a little too much. Maybe tomorrow a tree will happen. :)
